2013 has also seen the introduction of Sky Adsmart allowing smaller businesses to advertise on the Sky platform. Up until the introduction of Sky Adsmart all advertising on Sky had to be national creating wastage for smaller businesses but this is no longer the case. Sky has launched a new service that will be delivered to millions of the satellite broadcasters pay TV subscribers. Sky Adsmart allows advertisers to tailor TV adverts to specific households based on age, gender, estimated income, lifestyle and where they live. Adsmart allows different advertising messages to be broadcast to different homes and allows regional businesses to access the platform avoiding the cost and wastage of a current Sky campaign.
